Description | Acarbose EP Impurity D is an impurity of Acarbose that delays the production of monosaccharides by inhibiting the a-glucosidases. It is used in the treatment of patients with non-insulin-dependent or insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. It is also being studied in areas such as dumping syndrome, reactive hypoglycemia, and types IIb and IV hyperlipoproteinaemias. |
